Is it a good time to move house?

Postby Carly1983 » Mon Jan 11, 2010 4:15 pm

Hi I'm in the UK and wondering if its a good time to move house given that the houses are supposedly cheaper now. Im currently renting so don't have anything to sell.
Are the house prices really a lot cheaper now? and does anyone think they will go down more?

Thanks

If you can find a good deal then sure. The market will probably start to rebound soon, so get in while it's down.

Thanks for the reply, I have been looking a little and the prices do seem to be more affordable, I just worry there will be another drop, as to be honest they havent dropped as much as i thought they would.

I kno w alot of people in the UK are now waiting to see what happens to house prices after the general election. As goverment policy changes could have a strong impact on house prices and the affordability of moving.

I want to move but not sure which way to go. Is it a risk moving now or should i waot untill interest rates steady. any advice would be good! Thanks Dayeene.Best deal is always to jump in as soon as you can. Interest rates are predicted to peak at 6% short to medium term and drop again in long term. So you should be safe to move.
